Opening the theatre doors.
Removing practical barriers and enabling children and young people from underserved communities to experience professional ballet in the theatre.
BUDDING BALLERINAS & ASPIRING DANSEURS
Where a love of dance can begin.
Introducing children aged 5–12 to movement, music and ballet alongside professional CTCB dancers, while working to make participation accessible to children who might otherwise be unable to afford the opportunity.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Turning potential into possibility.
Providing talented young dancers with training, mentorship and valuable professional experience, including opportunities to rehearse and perform alongside CTCB artists.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Taking dance beyond the traditional stage.
Working with community organisations and other stakeholders to extend inclusive dance experiences into communities and reach children and young people beyond traditional theatre audiences.
TRAINING, SKILLS & CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Creating pathways through dance.
Providing opportunities for learning, mentorship and professional development while broadening awareness of careers across dance, teaching, choreography, production, design and arts administration.
CAPE TOWN CITY BALLET ACADEMY
Developing tomorrow’s dancers.
Providing structured ballet education, vocational and pre-professional training and dancer development, while seeking funding to enable talented children and young people who cannot afford tuition to access training opportunities.
